Dr Andy Borthwick-Clarke
As a medical student, I joined the Army and I qualified as a doctor at St George's Hospital in 1974.
After a year as a junior doctor in the NHS, I served with various regiments for the next two years in the UK, Germany and Northern Ireland after which I spent a further three years in various Army Hospital posts in Germany, London and Aldershot.
The Army then seconded me to Kings College Hospital, London, where my radiology training was based and I qualified as a radiologist in 1984.
I was then a Consultant Radiologist in Army Hospitals in Germany and Aldershot until 1988 when I left the Army to take up my Consultant Radiology post here in Jersey.
With my colleague, Patric Nisbet, I set up our first Private X-ray facility at Bon Air Nursing Home in 1989 and then subsequently we moved to the Lido Medical Centre in 2006.
I am a general radiologist with particular interest in imaging of breast cancer as well as neurological and gynaecological diseases.

I studied Medicine at Cambridge and King's College Hospital.
I then trained in Endocrinology and Nuclear Medicine Guy's Hospital where I subsequently trained in Radiology.
I underwent further training in Breast Screening/mammography in Falun, Sweden.
Now, I mainly report MRI and Ultrasound scans as well as Plain X rays.

I studied medicine at St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School and carried out my basic radiology training in Oxford. On completion, I underwent further specialist training in chest imaging (which is my main area of interest) at Papworth. I have extensive experience in high resolution lung CT and performing lung biopsies.
My other area of interest is in musculo-skeletal imaging (MSK) and I received my initial training in Sydney. I have many year’s experience in musculo-skeletal MRI and also perform musculo-skeletal ultrasound, along with ultrasound-guided injections.
More recently, I have trained in cardiac CT in Plymouth.
I also perform breast imaging.

I have been a radiographer and sonographer for over 30 years, training at The Royal London Hospital and Kings College Hospital, respectively.
My clinical practice has been in the UK – both in private practice and the NHS and then in Jersey for the last 10 years. Until recently, I managed the ultrasound department at the General Hospital, as well as offering ultrasound lists at Jersey X-ray.
I now practice 4 days per week (including an evening Wednesday session) at Jersey X-ray services. I am available to perform a wide range of ultrasound scans, with a special interest in gynaecological studies.
Dr Salman Zaman
I studied medicine at Khyber Medical College in Peshawar. I then went on to train in General Medicine at Hull and Cambridge for two and a half years, obtaining a higher qualification (MRCP UK) from the Royal College of Physicians, London.
I carried out my radiology training in Sheffield. On completion, I took up a consultant post in Cheshire, where I worked for 15 years, before moving to Jersey 5 years ago.
My area of interest are Interventional Radiology (keyhole surgical procedures of the arterial/venous and urinary systems). I also have an interest in gastro-intestinal and chest radiology and general musculo-skeletal imaging.
Dr Nicholas Dodds
I studied at Manchester Medical School and underwent my radiology training on the Manchester Radiology training scheme. I specialised in abdominal imaging and interventions, which was consolidated as an International Fellow in the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia.
I have worked as a Consultant for 5 years in the Royal Cornwall Hospital and 2 years in the Al Ain Hospital in Abu Dhabi Hospital. In that period, I have undergone further training in vascular interventions.
My areas of interest are abdominal and pelvic imaging and interventional radiology. This includes ultrasound, CT and MRI imaging. I also perform general chest, musculo-skeletal and neuro scans.
At Jersey General Hospital, I currently provide embolisation procedures, including uterine artery embolisation and testicular vein embolisation. I also provide peripheral vascular procedures including angioplasty and stent insertion and a vascular access service which includes Portacath, Tunneled lines and PICC lines.
I am always happy to see patients for a consultation, prior to any interventional procedure.
Maureen Jordan-Higgins
I am general radiographer with many years experience having trained in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. I started working at Bon Air X-ray Services over 25 years ago and I moved with the team, to the now Jersey X-ray services, when it was established in the Lido Medical Centre.
I set up The Bone Density Scanning service at Overdale Hospital, Westmount in 1995 as a medical referral unit and I continue to oversee this service.
The Radiologists and myself developed a self referral service at Jersey X-ray Services when we realised the importance of easier access for patients to have a Dexa scan. This has proved to be very successful. I also work at the Jersey General Hospital in all areas of Radiology.
